I don’t like legalese any more than the next person out there. But I’ve been writing fan fiction, and haunting the web, for long enough to know that it’s sometimes necessary.
As a general rule, as long as you (a) understand that this is a fan fiction site and (b) behave like a reasonable adult, things will be fine. But you’ll find the specifics below.

General Information
- You have reached Legends Lost, which is a fan fiction site that expands and continues the television show Scarecrow and Mrs. King. The site address is smk.lfvoy.net.

- These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of those changes.

- While steps have been taken to prevent spam and malicious code, I can’t guarantee that such things won’t be present, nor can I accept responsibility for them. Please keep local security features, such as firewalls and spam prevention, turned on.
- Most content of this site is appropriate for all audiences. However, there are occasional items thar are not appropriate for minors or other protected audiences. I accept no responsibility for the site content’s suitability for any specific party.
- Items marked with the 18-and-over icon 🔞, or noted as having a “Mature” rating, are specifically intended for adults over the age of eighteen only.
- Scarecrow and Mrs. King is the intellectual property of B&E Enterprises/Shoot the Moon Enterprises and Warner Brothers Television. This site, which is intended for entertainment purposes only, is not authorized or licensed by the original intellectual property holders.
- Items on this site are posted under “fair use” principles, using provisions about fan fiction established in case law. No copyright or trademark infringement is intended or should be implied.
- Quite the contrary: I’d love to see more official Scarecrow and Mrs. King material out there! Please help me support it whenever you get the option.

Privacy and Information Collection
- User accounts and uploads are not permitted on this site. As such, no personal information is collected unless a party leaves a comment on a blog post or story; or sends a message through the contact form.
- If someone leaves a comment on the site, it collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
- This site uses the Akismet anti-spam service. Information may thus be shared with that service, but will be limited to the minimum necessary to ensure operation of the service.
- This site also uses the Gravatar profile service, meaning that information may be provided to that service to see if you are using it. Use of Gravatar implies consent to its terms of service. After approval of a comment, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
- Users leaving comments may opt in to saving their name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for convenience only so that users do not have to fill in details again when leaving another comment. Cookies will expire after one year.
- The comment metadata itself is retained indefinitely, so that I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments immediately.
- If someone sends a message through the contact form, the site collects the data shown on that form alongside the IP address. No other information is collected.
- This information is used to review the message itself and, if necessary, send a response.
- If the contact form question about quotability is not answered, the assumption will be that the message text is quotable on this site.
- Personal information that may be collected is used for spam protection, analytics, and convenience. Such information will never be sold or used for third-party marketing purposes. Under most circumstances, information will never be shared with a third party at all.
- If sharing of personal data is necessary for legal reasons (subpoena, police report, etc.), only the minimum required and necessary amount will be shared.
- Users may request that personal data on the site be deleted. If such a request is made, the only data that will be kept is that required for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
- Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Additional Guidelines for Comments and Contacts
- While polite and constructive criticism is always welcomed, any contact or comment that contains flames, trolling, or similar offensive and non-constructive content will be ignored and the IP address blocked.
- The same goes for any contact deemed to be spam or strictly a solicitation. Automated or bulk-generated comments will be treated as spam and removed.
- Comments and contacts from bots and automated artificial intelligence applications are also not welcome.
- All comments and contacts, as well as Gravatar avatars, should be appropriate for general audiences. I prefer no use of profanity, but if it is used, it should be minimal.
- Comments and contacts containing threats, doxxing, bullying, stalking, or other illegal and unethical items will be reported to the appropriate authorities for potential further action.
- Those who submit such contacts or comments will also be permanently banned from submitting any further messages.
- Please feel free to send in suggestions about blog posts or additional content for the site. However, at the moment, I am not accepting proposals for guest posts written by third parties.
- If I have reason to believe that a contact or comment has been submitted by someone under the age of 13, the comment will not be approved and the form contents will not be quoted. However, I can’t be held responsible if someone conceals or misrepresents their age.
- Comments are moderated the first time a user posts, and may be moderated again at my discretion or after your annual cookies expire.
- The decision to approve or decline a comment is entirely mine, and those decisions are final.
