Legends Lost is a fan fiction universe that expands and continues the 1980s-era television show, Scarecrow and Mrs. King. While the show was a lighthearted spy spoof, this universe has segued into straight drama — although it’s not without its lighter moments.

Since this is fan fiction, and not constrained by the realities of television production, things happen and characters develop. The series is grounded in respect for the core relationships and canon characterizations of the show, but sometimes the effects of an event are permanent. Because of that, the fiction is available in a chronological index to help readers keep track.
Although the stories are posted at An Archive of Our Own (AO3), this site is the official location for the universe. In addition to the stories, it contains reference material that isn’t available elsewhere.
For the sake of simplicity, I archive my other Scarecrow and Mrs. King fan fiction here as well.
Who am I?
I’ve been writing and sharing fan fiction under the pen name Cat Lady Firebird since 1998. I began writing for Scarecrow and Mrs. King in late 2023.
I also write fiction and the occasional poem under other pen names. I release most of my work (including some fan fiction!) via Contentnea Creek Books. As if that’s not enough, I have a full-time job in a business field and maintain a professional blog using my given name. And I have a life away from my computer, too.
In that offline life, I’m a fifty-ish, crazy cat lady, living and working in eastern North Carolina. Yes, I have an accent, although I’m told it’s mild. No, I’m not a redneck — but I will firmly correct anyone who carries the incorrect belief that barbecue is red.
